Too Faced Lip of Luxury

Today my Boots order finally arrived, after a delivery mishap due to my fault. However, I ended up getting my stuff for free! (long story, but basically I asked for a refund because I didn't get my stuff, and then I received my package the next day lol. I called up Boots and for my honesty, they let me keep the refund and the stuff!)

So one of my purchases was a lipstick from Too Faced in the shade Free Love. Apparently these lipsticks are infused with champagne essence (which is supposed to moisturise your lips... how?), shea butter, grape seed oil and grapefruit oil.

I love the tacky packaging! So blingtastic. Metallic pink casing with a 'gem' on top haha. It's quite a weighty, substantial feeling lipstick though, so definitely doesn't feel cheap!

Free Love is a shimmery slightly cool-toned pink. Very pretty. The scent is floral - can't put my finger on the exact flower though. It almost smells like a floral tea. Very feminine.

As you can see, it's a very neutral pink, and almost has brown/beige undertones.

My lips look funny and bloated here! Hahaha. The colour looks more shimmery in person, but look how lovely and natural that colour is!

Too Faced Lip of Luxury lipsticks retail for £12.

Grazia Shopping Event on Carnaby Street

FYI my blog readers! Just found out about this through Lebinh's blog at http://deeliteful.tumblr.com/. I'm gutted that I'll have to miss this since I have an exam the following day...

This Thursday, 11th May, Grazia is holding a shopping event on Carnaby Street (and surrounding streets), where over 100 stores will be doing 20% (and yes, that includes MAC, Make Up Store, Office, Twenty8Twelve, etc)! Actually it even includes some restaurants in the area, like The Diner! Yum. You can print off a free ticket from the official event website:

Don't miss out! I'm so jealous of those of you who are gonna make it.... :( xxx

Face and Outfit of the Day

Today I'm wearing two of my new River Island tops, even though I have nowhere to go! That's what revision does to you haha.

I'm wearing my new grey tank and white cut-out t-shirt. I think the white tee looks super cool! Inspired by the army green Gucci one.

As you may or may not be able to tell, my Dove Summer Glow gradual tanning body lotion is working! My skin is now lightly tanned and I couldn't be more pleased. I will be writing up a full review of it soon.

On my face, I have my Rimmel Colour Mousse 8 Hour eyeshadow in Sassy, black eyeliner and mascara. I used Prestige's mineral sun baked bronzer in Rich Bronze and Illamasqua Lover blush. On my lips I have one of my new Maybelline colour sensational lipsticks, in Amber Rose.

A fresh, warm, bronzed look, perfect for the warmer weather!

Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday! I'm not... stupid revision! :P

Blog Love!

I have a great blog to share with you guys today. It's my really good friend's blog and she's just started it recently. It's all about traveling and the best places to check out in big cities around the world, from London to New York to Munich, etc. If you're someone who enjoys checking out new places, be it shopping locations, unique and quirky restaurants or even sight-seeing, her blog is definitely for you. It's really well-written, contains loads of high quality photos, and she throws in her own little anecdotes too!

So here's the link to her blog, I think she deserves so many more followers! You won't be disappointed:

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks

Boots are doing a 3 for 2 on selected make-up brands, such as Maybelline and Rimmel. I took advantage of the opportunity and picked up 3 lipsticks, which costed me a total of around £13.50. Pretty good deal I think! Also I wanted to cheer myself up from my crappy exam. Turns out that only one of the topics I studied came up on the paper! I was counting on that subject to pull my overall degree up :(

Anyway, I picked up the famous Ambre Rose, and also Cookie Crisp (which I always swatch in store but never buy) and Rosewood Pearl.

With flash:

Ambre Rose, Cookie Crisp, Rosewood Pearl

Without flash:

Ambre Rose, Rosewood Pearl, Cookie Crisp

Swatched on paper:

Cookie Crisp, Ambre Rose and Rosewood Pearl.

They are all shimmery lipsticks, so they make your lips look fuller. They smell like coconut.

Rosewood Pearl is an interesting colour. I don't think I've seen anything like it. It's a pearly (go figure) light pink/beige that looks light mauve pink when the light hits the shimmer, and pinky brown when it doesn't.

All three colours are very pretty colours and I highly recommend these! They feel moisturising on the lips as well. xx

Cupcake Nails!!

A few days ago, I added my Barry M holographic glitter onto my pastel purple toe nails, and I couldn't stop staring at them because they reminded me of glittery cupcakes!! So when my coral finger nails started chipping, I decided to paint them a pastel baby/sky blue (the other Zoya polish I received in my swap), with the same holographic glitter on top. And I love how they turned out! Check it:

That's my boyfriend's phone in the background and my silly face is his background! Haha!

Slightly creepy!

Yuck, ignore my greasy face!

In other news, I made online orders from Boots and MAC (yes because I'm THAT lazy), and I'm impatiently awaiting their delivery! Will be sure to show you guys what I got :)

If any of you have exams coming up, I recorded an exam tips video today on youtube, so feel free to check it out!

Dove Summer Glow: First Impressions

I picked up the Dove Summer Glow gradual tanning body lotion. I believe it was £2.50. Here are my first impressions:

Pros:
- Smells lovely, a light mango scent
- Applies very nicely - very smooth, light and creamy
- Absorbs relatively quickly, I was able to get dressed pretty much immediately after

Cons:
- I'm now sitting in the living room and the sun is shining on me.. and omg I look like a complete glitter ball!! It says on the bottle that it contains light shimmer particles, but actually it's more like glitter! I look a bit like Edward Cullen from Twilight, except my body is glittering instead of my face! I wouldn't go out in the day time with this on... but that's not an issue for me, as I'll be applying it every night before bed.

I'm hoping to see results soon! I'll keep you guys posted.

Have any of you tried the Dove Summer Glow gradual tanning body lotion? If so, what are your thoughts? x

Free Nails Inc. nail polish with Instyle

I took my first exam of four this morning, so I thought I'd treat myself to this month's issue (June) of InStyle, as I knew it came with a free Nails Inc. nail polish. The colours available were a baby pink, a bright coral and a mink colour. I had my heart set on the coral one, and once I saw it, I wasn't disappointed!

This is the name of the shade.

The nail polish is full size (10ml). They normally retail at £10.50

This picture doesn't do it justice. It's a much more vibrant coral than this. Hot red if you like!

The quality of Nails Inc. polishes is second to none. Very smooth and opaque.

If you're not already an avid InStyle reader, I highly recommend that you pick one up anyway, because the free nail polish is too much to lose out on!

NARS Penny Lane and Cactus Flower

I have been loving my two NARS cream blushes lately: Penny Lane and Cactus Flower. Using a cream blush rather than a powder blush is especially great in the Spring and Summer, since it's relatively quick and easy, and lasts all day!

Penny Lane

Penny Lane is a beautiful neutral dusty pink colour, and on the face it provides a lovely natural flush.

I demonstrate its application in my youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYwuWQpOyHU

Cactus Flower

In the picture, it's coming out a little too pink. It's actually a bright watermelon red, and NARS describes it as 'shimmering poppy'. On the skin it can either provide a very natural rosy flush, as if you've just finished a run, or have just come in from the cold, or it can also be built up to a bright fuchsia pink. This means that it's suitable for both lighter and darker skin tones.

Left: built up to a bright fuchsia pink.
Right: Lightly blended to give a natural rosy flush.

I highly recommend these two NARS cream blushes, and I'm very interested in getting more of them! They're pigmented, very creamy and very blendable.

Hope you're all having a wonderful Bank Holiday Monday! xxx

Kill Me!

The May Day protestors are driving me crazy!! They're yelling and hitting drums right outside my window, all the way down my street and I'm trying to study because I have my first exam in 3 days!! I know they're protesting for work conditions etc., but really, does it help to shout 'long live socialism' all through central london? I think not!!

Hmph. Sorry for being grumpy. :(
