Look What I Found!

The other day, I found an almost full jar of Estee Lauder Daywear Plus moisturiser in the bathroom cabinet! It must have been my mom's and she must have misplaced it.. so I was a bit sneaky and decided to try it!

This is a multi-protection anti-oxidant creme containing SPF 15, which makes it much more suitable for daytime (don't think you would want to wear sunscreen in your sleep!). As far as I know, it's suitable for all skin types.
The cream itself is a pastel green shade, and has quite a light consistency. It smells lovely too - like cucumber! However, once it's rubbed into the skin, the cream feels a bit heavier, and you can actually smell the SPF in it, which isn't that nice to be honest! However, it does remind you of summer and the beach. My skin felt very supple and smooth after applying this, but I must admit I'm more used to very light, weightless moisturisers, so this may take some getting used to. Also, I suspect I'm a little allergic to it, because my eyes started to sting a little, and I had to rinse them out. I must have gotten some into them by accident.

The reviews of this cream are mainly really highly rated, and some even claim that it has cured their acne! I would like to continue using this for a while to see if I see any positive effects. However, since purchasing my BB cream, which already contains SPF 27 in it, I won't have much need for an additional SPF, so will only be wearing this on days when I don't plan to use BB cream (which may be few and far between, since I've fallen hard for my BB cream)!

Have any of you used Estee Lauder Daywear Plus? What are your thoughts and experiences? xxx

Guerlain Goodies

On Wednesday, my mom and I went for our complimentary 30 minute make-up consultations at the Guerlain counter in Harvey Nichols. We were both given makeovers and it was quite fun!

This is what we ended up buying:

We got a 'Le 2' mascara each, in black. The first time I eyed this mascara up was when I was 16 or so, way before I got into a full-blown make-up obsession! The tube is just so glamourous and stylishly designed. It's REALLY LONG by the way! about 1/3 longer than the typical mascara.  This is a dual-ended mascara. One end has a normal-sized rubber bristle brush, which you use to coat your upper lashes, and the other end has a tiny natural bristle brush, which you use to coat your lower lashes and the harder-to-reach upper lashes at the corner.

I've only used this mascara once so far, and so far I like it. It's waterproof, very black, and really lengthens and volumizes my lashes. The only downside is that it doesn't hold a curl, and instead weighs my lashes down.

My mom basically doesn't own any eyeshadows, so she decided to get this gorgeous 'Ecrin 6 Couleurs' limited edition spring 2011 eyeshadow palette.

This next item was not purchased on Wednesday, but is actually a blush that my sister has had for a while now, but never used, since she hardly wears make-up and never wears blush lol. She actually got it free at a Guerlain event a while back! So lucky. But now it's MINE!! :P

This is the 'Rose Plein Vent' blush in the '4 Eclats' blush range. When applied to the cheeks, it's a soft peachy-pink colour with a very flattery pearly finish that makes your cheeks glow. The shimmer is basically undetectable.

The blush is actually more pink in person. My lighting was weird. I'm so happy to own this blush now!
So what do you think of these goodies? I think the Guerlain make-up range is beautiful, and of such high quality, but the high prices definitely make the products occasional treats ;)

Burberry Lookalike

Check out this awesome top/poncho/cape/shawl my mom bought from Shanghai! Looks so much like Burberry doesn't it? Also, it's reversible (plain grey on the other side, with the check showing in the collar area!) But wait.. I'm not done yet!! the top can be worn unbuttoned at the front... AND there are also buttons under the arm holes that can be unbuttoned... which effectively makes this piece a giant shawl!! Incredible. I love cleverly designed clothing :D

Also, my hair is finally starting to look slightly longer!! Can't wait until it's long enough to make me look like my usual self lol. It's quite sad how much better I feel with long hair. Every time I get a hair cut, I feel like I've lost my mojo, lol ;)

Sasa Haul

The other day, I popped into Sasa to kill some time before dinner, and came out with 2 new make-up purchases :)

1. PUPA multi-purpose eyeshadow palette - colourway 03

I would describe the colour theme as warm, coppery browns. The shadows are all very pigmented and smooth. Very blendable and lovely to work with!

This palette was originally $172.50HKD but it was on a 20% off promotion, so I got it for just $138HKD. A really good bargain for 4 eyeshadows! I believe Sasa is also having this promotion across some other cosmetic brands, so make sure to check them out!

2. Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner - Brown

I also picked up this shimmery brown liquid liner by Majolica Majorca. It has a twist mechanism to dispense the ink, and the tip is very thin and it's really easy to control how thin or thick I want the line to be. This costed $98HKD.

I would really recommend both of these products, particularly the PUPA palette, as I think the quality is fantastic and the price is very reasonable. Great value for money. If you don't have Sasa stores where you live, they have a website from which you can order their products:

I believe they ship internationally.

Hope you found this post interesting/helpful xxx

Here's a little sneak peak at my home - well, my parents' home actually. They're hosting a dinner tonight so I decided to take some quick snaps of the lovely table setting and got a little carried away ;) Hope you enjoy the pics.

Sneaky shisha pipe that my sister bought recently in Beijing ;)

Hope everyone is having an amazing weekend xxx
